This class is designed for anyone looking to elevate their portrait editing skills to a fine art level. It is Photoshop-intensive, so a solid understanding of the software is essential as we’ll be delving into intermediate and advanced techniques. We’ll kick off with a photo session, followed by a week focused on Photoshop education.
You’ll learn Shannon’s award-winning fine art editing techniques, engage in small-scale compositing, and work on creating a full composite.
Shannon is a patient and passionate instructor who ensures that everyone leaves with a deeper understanding of how Photoshop can enhance their art. This class emphasizes learning the fine art style and discovering the power of Photoshop tools, rather than simply following a step-by-step process.
In addition to Photoshop training, we’ll explore how to reconnect with childlike creativity, find inspiration, and more. While this isn’t a marketing class, I’ll briefly touch on how I manage my studio and interact with clients.

On her second year of entering at the national level Shannon won the 1st place Grand Imaging Award in the Children photography category for the Professional Photographers of America in 2019. Shannon won once again in 2021 taking 1st place in the Children category, 3rd place in Photographic open, and the overall Grand Imaging Award for all of IPC. Shannon loves to teach and share her long journey with peers, and can be found teaching both online and in person around the country through various other forums.
When Shannon is not shooting, editing or teaching she is a very busy momma to 3 small kiddos, as well as a wife to her hard-working husband, and enjoying living life in beautiful Colorado.
