I am thrilled to have you in my class.  I have created this hub to try and give you a place to catch up on all things associated with “Mastering Your Camera, Flash and Composition”.  You will find important links, lesson library and more.  I will also be adding things from class so you will have access to other important items that may come up.

I have created a companion workbook for this class.  Be sure to download and print your workbook before you get to the hotel.  You will not find a convenient place to print it there.   If you are paying to have it printed, you can print it in black and white to save $$.

Online Lessons

“Things to Bring to Texas School”

  • Get your two all-time favorite images printed into 8×10.
  • Pack of 3×5 notecards.
  • Printed Workbook
  • Note pad and pens – You can bring a laptop, but it is not required and don’t expect to be able to plug it in. We will not be doing any image editing in class.  Don’t expect to be able to plug it in.
  • Gold Costume – yup, “Anything Gold Goes” party on Tuesday, and I am counting on all of you to participate
  • If you want to bring some images for me to critique, please gather them all on one place for me to review.  For example, put them all in one folder on your computer or tablet so we do not have to go searching for images.

I know that some of you are traveling by air, so please do not worry if you can’t bring all the items from this list – especially the bulky items. Arlington Camera will be providing some of these items for our class that you can borrow.

  • Camera
  • Wide angle, normal, telephoto lens. (If you have something like a 24-70mm and a 70-200mm, that would be awesome. Don’t worry if you don’t have these lenses. Just bring what you have)
  • Hand-held Light meter (if you have one)
  • Off-camera flash set up (flash, umbrella/small softbox, stand) Don’t worry if you don’t have this.
  • Remote trigger/receiver
  • On camera flash/speedlight
  • Tripod
  • Reflector
  • Camera Instruction book
  • Flash instruction book
  • Batteries for camera and flash and meter
  • Chargers

If you don’t have some of the above items or if you can’t travel with them, it’s OK. You can borrow our class equipment. Just know you will be sharing it with others.

Be sure to label all of your gear!
