Class Description
Beautiful images alone do not create a profitable newborn photography business. In this immersive week-long class, Lindsay Walden will teach photographers how to combine exceptional artistry with proven luxury business strategies to create a studio that attracts higher-end clients and generates sustainable profits.
Drawing from her own journey from selling $250 CDs to building a luxury portrait studio with an average sale exceeding $8,000, Lindsay will share the lessons, systems, and mindset shifts that transformed both her business and her life. Students will gain an inside look at the strategies that helped her move beyond competing on price and create a brand that luxury clients actively seek out.
Students will learn newborn posing, lighting, styling, retouching, print preparation, workflow, and client experience design through a combination of live demonstrations and hands-on shooting opportunities with newborn models. Lindsay will handle all posing demonstrations while explaining not only how she photographs a session, but why she makes the artistic and business decisions she does—and how those choices contribute to higher sales, a stronger brand, and a more seamless client experience.
A significant portion of the class will focus on building a luxury newborn business. Topics include branding, marketing, pricing, cost of doing business, sales, creating perceived value, client psychology, designing a luxury client journey, and developing systems that encourage both profitability and referrals. Students will have opportunities to evaluate their own businesses and apply what they learn directly to their pricing, marketing, and client experience.
This class is designed for photographers at all skill levels. Newer photographers will gain a solid foundation in newborn photography and business practices, while experienced photographers will benefit from a deeper understanding of luxury positioning, client psychology, and the strategies behind building a more profitable and sustainable business.
By the end of the week, students will leave with more than improved photography skills. They will have a roadmap for creating a luxury brand, attracting better clients, increasing profitability, and delivering an experience that clients cannot stop talking about. Whether you are just beginning your newborn photography journey or looking to elevate an established studio, this class will provide practical tools that can transform both your business and your confidence as a business owner.
Students should bring: a laptop with Adobe Photoshop installed, current business materials such as pricing menus and cost-of-doing-business information, and note-taking supplies. A camera is encouraged for the hands-on shooting portions of the class. A wider-angle lens such as a 35mm or comparable zoom lens is recommended.
