Class Description

The Media Day Engine is a hands-on masterclass that teaches photographers how to transform traditional team and individual picture days into premium Media Day productions that athletes love, parents remember, and businesses profit from.

This class goes far beyond lighting diagrams and posing. Students will learn how to design an unforgettable athlete experience while building the operational systems that make high-volume production efficient, repeatable, and scalable.

Throughout the week, we’ll cover creative direction, universal lighting setups, roster and data management, athlete flow, staffing, automation, advanced tethered workflows that compress your post-production timeline while you are still on set, and premium product creation—all through a blend of classroom instruction and live production labs.

This class is ideal for established volume photographers looking to increase revenue, boutique studios ready to enter the sports market, and anyone who wants to move beyond simply “taking pictures” to producing an experience that sets their business apart.

Students will leave with more than new techniques. They’ll leave with an entirely new way of thinking about picture day—one that increases efficiency, creates better client experiences, generates higher per-athlete revenue, and builds a business designed to grow without sacrificing quality.

Attendees should bring a camera, a standard zoom lens (24–70mm recommended), a laptop capable of viewing and editing images, and a willingness to rethink everything they thought they knew about picture day.

Angelo McComis, founder of AMAC Photo, is an Ohio-based sports photographer who built his studio on a simple belief: picture day should be one of the most memorable experiences of the season.

While exceptional portraits are the lasting keepsake, the real product is the excitement, confidence, and energy athletes feel in front of the camera. By blending creative vision with operational precision, Angelo has developed practical approaches that help studios streamline operations, elevate the athlete experience, and build stronger, more profitable businesses.

He enjoys sharing those ideas through workshops and industry education, helping fellow photographers create picture days that athletes remember long after the photos are delivered.
