Photographic art can break the laws of physics and reality, but it still has to obey the rules of photography. This course will teach you how to create seamless digital projects; to align your photos with similar colors, lighting, and perspective, blend in proper shadows and combine elements for a realistic final artwork.

Some to the techniques you will learn as we build our composites and photomanipulations will include: Matching or Correcting Lighting, Adjusting Colors, Color Grading, Complex Masking and Selections, Adding Shadows, Stacking Blend Modes, Blend If Sliders, Adding Environmental Realism, Adding Depth of Field, and Final Adjustments and Finishing Techniques to bring your artwork to the pro finish stage.

Because world of photography is learning to embrace the new AI technologies, this course will also include an AI workflow for compositors. It will include an introduction to how to leverage CHATgpt for compositing ideas, for image prompting, and more. We will also demonstrate the power of the Midjourney and Adobe Firefly applications for gathering images or building backgrounds to use in your composites.

For more than 12 years Terri has been using and teaching Photoshop and digital painting techniques.  She returned to photography as a hobby after retiring from a 22 year career in the U.S. Navy and 18 years an independent IT consultant.

Defining herself as a “creative” versus a photographer, Terri captures her wildlife, nature, and travel images to use in paintings and digital composites.  Her passions are photorealistic painting as well as artistic photomontages that blend dozens of photo elements and textures together for creative stories.

Terri has had 14 artworks published in “Living the Photo Artistic Life” magazine since June 2022 and she continues to submit artworks to art competitions as well as photography print competitions.

She received her Master Artist Degree from PPA in January 2024.
